lafd wtc memorial geocache

This is a piece of the World Trade Center at the Los Angeles Fire Department Training Center:

“The 23 ton, 28 foot tall, trident shaped piece of  the World Trade Center’s South Tower is a monument that is intended to ensure that we in fact ‘NEVER FORGET.’ This structural member of the building was presented to the LAFD in 2002 as a way of saying thanks for the assistance that our members provided to the Fire Department of New York, FDNY, during the 2001 disaster.” (this information is from lafra.org)

Here’s Mike with the LAFD World Tade Center Memorial cache:

We had visited the memorial in 2002 and intended to come back to find the cache, which was hidden in 2006, but never made it back until now.

Time flies.
